Vanderbilt: A Man and His Treasures Biltmore Estate Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC is simply put the largest estate in America ever built for a single family. The estate has been open to the public for tours since the 1930s. TM designed and installed the first ever exhibit for the house in 1995. The exhibit, George W. Vanderbilt: the Treasures of A Collector, displays the collecting passions of the estate’s builder in secure and environmentally sensitive cases. The exhibition includes a Whistler painting, a LaFarge window, rare books, silver and many other unique items collected all over the world. It also displays unique features of the house and grounds, the latter of which were designed by Frederick Law Olmstead. Subsequently, TM designed three additional exhibits for Biltmore Estate.
